Godine 1990, 3. oktobra, došlo do istorijskog ujedinjenja 2 nemačke države, Demokratke Republike Nemačke i Savezne Republike Nemačke. Berlinski zid je već pao, 9-og novembra 1989 i Evropa je krenula u nekom drugom pravcu. Vetar promene je zapahnuo, kako Evropu, tako i Rusiju (bivši SSSR). Na brdovitom Balkanu povetarac promene je dostigao i uraganske razmere, ali mi danas učimo, verovali ili ne engleski jezik.

Heavy metal grupa Scorpins iz nemačkog grada Hanovera, postala je poznata širom sveta, po hitovima pevanim na engleskom jeziku.
1989 godine grupa je bila na gostovanju u Rusiji, Moskvi i inspirisana tom turnejom nastala je i pesma – Vetar promene. Pesma je u osnovi imala za cilj da promoviše perestrojku u Rusiji. Međutim, često se desi da se delo otme i zaživi neki svoj život. To se desilo i sa ovom pesmom, koja je postala planetarni hit. Što se tiče same Nemačke, ona je proglašena za hit dvadestog veka i za sada, kolko je meni poznato, drži rekord najporodavanije, sa 6 miliona kopija, kako se to stručno kaže nosača zvuka.
Za Nemce, ova pesme je postala i ostala simbol Ujedinjenja Nemačke.
